Here’s What You Need to Take the Program

We want you to be successful in your new training. Here are the minimum computer requirements you’ll need to have ready before logging on.

Internet Speed:  The single greatest factor for a successful learning experience is the use of a high-speed or broadband internet connection (256 Kbit/sec or faster—this will ensure that you can view videos and online presentations).  Broadband includes DSL, cable, and wireless connections.

Browser support:
Moodle is compatible with any standard compliant web browser.

  • Desktop:  Chrome, Firefox, or Edge
  • Mobile:  MobileSafari or Google Chrome

For the best experience and optimum security, we recommend that you keep your browser up to date: https://whatbrowser.org

Media Plug-ins:  Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader, Apple QuickTime, Windows Media Player

Operating System:  We recommend at least Windows 10 or higher, although older Windows programs will usually work.

Settings:  We recommend that the following be enabled:  Cookies, Pop-ups (in both Internet browser and security software), and Javascript

Computer configuration:  We recommend you install the most RAM your computer will hold.

Accessories and Equipment: You must have a sound card with speakers or a headphone to listen to the audio. For medical transcription, a headset is needed.  You must have a CD player in your computer/laptop or an external CD drive available from Amazon.
